The VIII CIS International Cultural and Educational Forum «Children of the Commonwealth» was held in Uzbekistan from On June 20-30. This year’s motto of the International Forum is Children of the Commonwealth: the inseparable connection of times and generations, the press office of the CIS Executive Committee reports.
Young participants made presentations of national traditions and customs of their countries. They took part in a versatile programme: guided tours, exhibitions, master classes, sports competitions, intellectual games, trainings, a music championships, a poetry evening, a circus show, film screenings, a disco and many other events.
The forum brought together schoolchildren and their mentors from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The CIS International Cultural and Educational Forum «Children of the Commonwealth» was initiated by the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan and supported by the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly. The first forum took place at the recreation house on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul in the Kyrgyz city of Cholpon-Ata in 2013.
