On March 23, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held talks via videoconference with Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Economic Attractiveness and French Nationals Abroad Olivier Becht. The interlocutors discussed the progress in studying feasibility of implementing the power plant projects jointly with the French companies EDF, Total Energies and Voltalia, the press office of the Ministry reported to CentralAsia.news.
The interlocutors noted great progress on implementing the projects aimed at building up mineral production and processing capacities of Uzbekistan’s mining industry jointly with Orano Mining and the water supply projects in Tashkent jointly with Eiffage and Suez and expediting construction of the Yakkabag-Karshi water pipelines.
Particular attention was paid to the steps taken to implement joint transport projects with Alstom and ATR.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the events involving entrepreneurs from the two countries that serve as a driver to boost multifaceted bilateral partnerships They agreed that the members of MEDEF International would visit Uzbekistan to participate in a joint business forum in April and the Uzbekistan-France Intergovernmental Commission would meet in the capital of Uzbekistan in May.
