Kyrgyzstan and UN estimate work plans for 2023-2024 at $223 million

As was reported, cooperation will cover in 4 strategic areas.

On March 24, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov participated in the first meeting of the Strategic Coordinating Committee of the Cabinet of Ministers and the UN, at which the draft joint work plans for 2023-2024 were discussed, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.

«The Cabinet of Ministers sets the ambitious, but quite achievable goals to increase Kyrgyzstan’s economic growth. According to preliminary statistics, Kyrgyzstan’s GDP reached 919.4 billion soms, and the real growth rate stood at 107% in 2002,» Akylbek Zhaparov said.

UN Resident Coordinator in Kyrgyzstan Antje Grawe noted that the new five-year Cooperation Framework is an important step to reform the UN focusing on partnerships with a wide range of partners to implement national development priorities and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Following the discussion, the parties adopted the decision on the approval of the Joint Work Plans for 2023-2024. The implementation of the joint work plans for two years is estimated at $223 million. Cooperation will cover in four strategic areas.
