Head of OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe highlights importance of preventing terrorism

Tea Jaliashvili emphasised that law enforcement measures are not enough in this sphere.

The Conference “Implementation of the Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan on counteracting extremism and terrorism for 2021-2025: cooperation of state bodies and international organisations” took place in Dushanbe. Head of OSCE Programme Office in Tajikistan Tea Jaliashvili highlighted the importance of expanding crime prevention activities in the country, the press office of the OSCE Programme Office reported by CentralAsia.news.

The Acting Head of Programme Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe emphasised that law enforcement measures are not enough in modern realities, noting that the work should be done in parallel to eradicate the causes and conditions conducive to the spread of terrorism and extremism.

She noted that the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe hopes to expand interaction with the Tajik departments and international stakeholders in combating crime.

Earlier, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon instructed government officials to intensify the measures in the framework of the Strategy on counteracting extremism and terrorism.
