President Tokayev receives Minister of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan

The Minister reported on the involvement of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in search and rescue operations in the regions of Turkey affected by the earthquake.

On February 9, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev received Minister of Emergency Situations Yuri Ilyin who reported on the work being done by the Kazakh rescuer team to remove rubble in the Turkish cities destroyed by a powerful earthquake, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported.

Working in difficult conditions, the rescuers from Kazakhstan demonstrate a high level of professionalism, the Minister noted. They are actively cooperating with the Turkish rescue detachments and the emergency crews from other countries that have come to help the people of Turkey.

A group of employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, including rescuers and handlers with search dogs, arrived in Hatay on the morning of February 9. Their mission is to search for citizens of Kazakhstan under the rubble. So far, the Kazakh rescuers have pulled 4 survivors from the quake rubble.

President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev highly evaluated the work being done by the rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan and instructed to send humanitarian aid through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to Syria affected by the natural disaster.
