Kazakhstan approves 2023 SDG Action Plan

Alikhan Smailov emphasised that the real tasks have been set and to be implemented effectively.

On December 21, the 6th meeting of the Coordinating Council on Sustainable Development Goals chaired by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov took place. The heads of key government agencies and diplomatic missions and the UN and UNDP representatives in Kazakhstan attended the online forum, the press office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

The participants reviewed the work done by the working groups this year and the fulfilment of the instructions of the President of Kazakhstan on the opening of the UN Regional SDGs Hub for Central Asia and Afghanistan in Almaty and approved the 2023 SDG Action Plan.

The Prime Minister emphasised that the implementation of the SDGs is aimed at improving the living standard of citizens and adopting the best international standards in all economic sectors. In this regard, Alikhan Smailov said specific tasks have been set and to be implemented next year.

The foreign partners welcomed the reform initiated in Kazakhstan and provided specific recommendations on the further development of the main deltas of the socio-economic institution.
