On November 22, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin, who was on a working visit to Dushanbe. The interlocutors discussed a wide range of regional security issues, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
The interlocutors focused on the interaction between the special services of the two states, which is actively expanding over the 30-year history of bilateral diplomatic relations. They noted the need to promote cooperation in fighting terrorism, extremism and transnational organized crime, including illicit drug and arms trafficking, cybercrime and other threats to national security.
The coordination of further actions in countering the modern threats and the trends in the spread of religious radicalism was also considered.
