Young citizen of Kazakhstan among stampede victims in Seoul

A citizen of Kazakhstan, a representative of the younger generation was killed in a crowd surge, which resulted in a chaotic stampede during Halloween festivities in Seoul, the capital of the Republic of Korea, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported on October 30.

A young Kazakh woman was born in 1996, she was a native of Aktobe Region. The Combined Operations Headquarters in Seoul informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that a citizen of Kazakhstan, who studied at one of the universities in South Korea, was found among the dead in the tragedy that happened in Seoul’s Itaewon district.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan assured that Kazakh diplomats had contacted the deceased’s close family members and began to provide necessary assistance. Employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will help prepare the documents and take the body back to the homeland.
