Berdimuhamedov congratulates Turkmen citizens on Turkmen Alabay Day

The President noted that this dog breed is one of the oldest in the world and a priceless national heritage of the Turkmen people.

On October 28, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the people of Turkmenistan on the Turkmen Alabay Day. From the bottom of his heart, he wished the people of Turkmenistan every success in breeding and popularising worldwide Turkmen Alabay dogs that are the pride, legacy and priceless national heritage of the Turkmen people, as well as in improving the art of dog breeding, Turkmenistan Today News Agency reported.

The President emphasised that the Turkmen state has created the conditions necessary to develop the national art of dog breeding that has existed for many centuries. In this regard, he noted that the Türkmen Alabaý Itleri International Association, designed to support this area in the country, provides an opportunity to consistently promote and bring interaction with different countries of the world in this area to new frontiers.

In Turkmenistan, regular work is underway to train specialists for this important area, the President emphasised. The Alabay breeding complex of the above Association has the conditions necessary to conduct dog competitions and bring up and train these dogs.

“Devotion and friendship between a man and an Alabay dog is reflected in Turkmen classical works. Our courageous ancestors viewed an Alabay dog that is an excellent specimen of national selective breeding as an example of fearlessness, courage and unwavering devotion. Turkmen alabay dogs are a miracle of our ancient land, an adornment of the sacred Turkmen hearth and a priceless heritage, the Turkmen leader said in his address.
