On October 23, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory letter to PRC President Xi Jinping on his re-election as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the success of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Turkmenistan Today News Agency reported.
“The results of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China have demonstrated to the fullest extent that the Chinese people fully trust their leader and the policy of comprehensive modernisation, development of the national spirit and improvement of the living conditions of the people pursued under your wise leadership,” the President said.
Berdimuhamedov emphasised that over the past decades, Turkmenistan and China have established trusting relations of strategic cooperation, productively strengthened them and brought them to a new, higher level of interaction. He also expressed belief that the next five years of Xi Jinping’s leadership will be marked by the further growth of China’s economic potential, as well as the achievement of progress and prosperity for all citizens of China.
The Turkmen leader said Turkmenistan attaches great importance to bilateral relations, traditionally based on equality, mutual respect and observance of interests. In this regard, he emphasised that the Turkmen side is interested in promoting cooperation with China in priority areas.
