Kyrgyzstan has deterred from poverty syndrome and external dependence

The Deputy Prime Minister delivered a speech at the economic forum in Bishkek.

On October 5, Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev delivered a speech at the economic forum in Bishkek, focusing on the economic achievements of Kyrgyzstan over the past year, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.

He expressed belief that the economic forum would provide an effective platform for discussing priority issues on the agenda aimed at achieving and increasing economic resilience.

Kasymaliyev highlighted the importance of building up cooperation with the World Bank and other international partners.

He reminded that in February, international experts forecasted the downturn in Kyrgyz economy by 5%, but in fact, the indicators went up.

“We have deterred from the poverty syndromes and external dependence. Our destiny is in our own hands. In our development, we must rely on our own strength,” the Vice Prime Minister concluded.

The forum focused on the implementation of the two construction projects of crucial importance for Kyrgyzstan: the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and the Kambar-Ata hydroelectric power station-1.
