On September 30, a parliamentarian of the Kyrgyz Republic Nadira Narmatova identified a number of social problems at a visiting meeting of the Ata Zhurt Kyrgyzstan faction. In particular, she proposed to revise the procedure for providing social allowances and increase the Balaga suyunchu allowance to 50,000 soms, the press office of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan reports.

The parliamentarian proposed to develop a special assistance programme for single mothers.

Touching upon the protection of the rights of migrant workers, Narmatova highlighted the need to involve diasporas, activists and social networks to raise awareness of the rights of migrant workers.

“Our citizens should know their rights and receive clear answers to their questions,” she said.

Touching upon the rights of migrant workers, a parliamentarian Kunduzbek Sulaimanov said the Ministry of Labour and Social Security ceased to issue social allowances to the family with one of the parents absent due to migrant work, emphasising the need to revise the procedure for providing social allowances to such families.
