The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan has ordered that schoolchildren and students of higher educational institutions must learn foreign languages. In particular, the Ministry ordered that schoolchildren, students and teachers should know 400 Russian and English words, the press office of the Ministry of Education and Science reports.
This is stated in the order of Minister of Education of Tajikistan Rakhim Saidzoda.
This result must be reached as soon as possible, and the Ministry of Education and Science stated that they expect to reach them by January 2023.
To this end, the Ministry has compiled the reference book “Dictionary of the most common words in the Tajik, Russian and English languages” that can be used when learning languages.
The order says this requirement will not apply to primary schoolchildren.
The Ministry also ordered that heads and teachers of institutions of secondary and higher education promote and monitor the memorization of these words.
However, it is not yet clear what measures will be taken if a schoolchild, student or teacher will not learn the words.
