Kazakhstan to promote mutually beneficial partnerships with GCC states

The prospects for interregional cooperation between Central Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council and interaction between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Arab states were discussed.

On August 5, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi met with Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) Nayef Falah Mubarak Al Hajraf. The interlocutors exchanged views on the prospects of interregional partnerships between Central Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council and interaction between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Arab states. They also discussed a wide range of issues on the international agenda, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported to CentralAsia.news.

“Our republic has stable and friendly relations with all the Arab states and intends to boost trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation with this region. Citizens of all the GCC states may travel to Kazakhstan visa free, and Kazakhstan has direct flights with KSA, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait. The Gulf states are the largest investor in Kazakh economy,” Tleuberdi emphasised.

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council said the GCC states are sincerely interested in establishing multifaceted cooperation with Central Asia and ready to hold the first ministerial meeting on the platform of the CA-GCC Dialogue.

In conclusion, the interlocutors agreed to continue joint efforts to expand friendly relations and partnerships between Kazakhstan and the GCC states.
