Ambassador marks promising vectors of Turkmen-Belarusian cooperation

The emphasis was placed on the import of Turkmen fruits and vegetables, and the creation of production cooperatives.

In an interview to the newspaper «Neutral Turkmenistan», the ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Turkmenistan Vyacheslav Beskosty outlined the main areas for further cooperation between the relevant countries. Attention was paid to partnerships in the economy, trade, and education.

He noted that the volume of trade turnover between the states at the end of last year amounted to 20.8 million US dollars. The import of Turkmen goods amounted to 7.1 million US dollars. These include textiles, cotton yarn, and tomatoes. In the 2021-2022 academic year, over 6.6 thousand Turkmen students studied at Belarusian universities.

Beskosty stressed that Minsk is interested in expanding imports of seasonal fruits and vegetables from Turkmenistan. Particular attention was paid to the creation of joint industrial clusters, and the implementation of combined cargo transportation through Turkmenistan, which is a major transport and logistics hub, according to the ambassador

The diplomatic representative pointed to the readiness of Belarus to provide Turkmenistan with 30 state-funded places in the framework of engineering and technical educational areas every year.
