Rahmon emphasises unpredictability of economic situation in Tajikistan

The President raised this issue at a working meeting with high-ranking officials and activists in Khatlon Region.

On June 18, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a working meeting with the heads of departments and activists in Khatlon Region. He noted that the current global events can lead to unpredictable consequences, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.

Rahmon emphasised that today the national economy is threatened by global political crises, regional conflicts, food price spikes, decline in food production, sanctions against trade partners of Tajikistan, as well as the spread of infectious diseases.

Experts believe that the adverse impact of the current situation on Tajik economy is inevitable and will lead to unpredictable long-term consequences, the President added.

Noting that every family in the country should think about its own supply in the current conditions, the President said citizens of the country should stock up for 2 years in advance. The officials were instructed to ensure the abundance of goods on the domestic consumer market.
