Tokayev assures all affected entrepreneurs of compensation for losses

The President inspected the quality of restoration work at the large shopping centre in Almaty.

On March 21, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev visited the largest shopping centre in Almaty, Asia Park that was most severely damaged during the January riots and was being restored. Tokayev met with the representatives of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) at the centre during his working trip to Almaty, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported.

The entrepreneurs expressed gratitude to the President for addressing urgently all emerging issues and ensuring support of the authorities and compensation for losses. Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev assured the entrepreneurs that the authorities will continue to support them and compensate all property losses.

The city officials reported that entrepreneurs’ claims are under active consideration, using the Mechanism. More than 1,230 claims worth 6.191 billion tenge have been settled. The remaining claims will be settled in the shortest possible time, the employees of the Mayor’s Office promised.

The President visited the restored trading blocks to inspect the quality of restoration work done.
