The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that over 70 railway cars and 160 trucks are allowed to go through the relevant points every day.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan stated that the situation at the border with Afghanistan is stable. The representatives of the department stressed that the country continues to take measures to ensure the smooth operation of the checkpoints in the relevant territory. It was reported by the press office of the MFA on August 26.

Ministry noted that about 70 railway cars and about 160 trucks pass through the corresponding points every day. According to employees of the officials, the vehicles are allowed to go through the Imamnazar-Akina and Serhetabat-Turgundi checkpoints.

Now Turkmenistan exports oil products, liquefied gas, grain and everyday goods to Afghanistan. The MFA marked that Ashgabat continues to supply electricity to the IRA within existing contracts.

On August 18, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry announced that the embassy of the country in Kabul and the consulates general in Herat and Mazar-i-Sharif are working in normal mode. The buildings are guarded by representatives of the Taliban movement (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation).

In the first half of August, the Taliban launched an offensive against government forces in the IRA. The change of power in the republic took place on August 16. The only province which is not under their control is Panjshir, northeast of Kabul.
