Turkmenistan and Congo establish diplomatic relations

The ambassadors of the countries in Moscow Niyazliyev and Maduka discussed the prospects for cooperation in education, science, culture and sports.

On May 21, an official ceremony of signing a protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Congo was held at the building of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the capital of Russia. The ambassadors of the countries held talks on further cooperation, as reported by the press office of the Turkmen MFA.

The document was signed by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Moscow Batyr Niyazliyev and the diplomatic representative of the Congo in the Russian Federation David Maduka. Within the official negotiations, the parties touched upon the subject of interaction between the countries in various areas.

Particular attention was paid to the prospects for interstate relations in the educational, scientific, cultural and sports spheres. The emphasis was also placed on partnerships within international organizations.

It should be added that neutral Turkmenistan is pursuing an «open door» policy. The state is open to mutually beneficial partnership with African countries. At the moment, Turkmenistan cooperates with the Republic of South Africa and Burkina Faso.
