The winner of the final race among jockeys mentors received a car as a prize.
On April 22, horse racing was held in the administrative center of the Mary province of Turkmenistan in honor of the holiday of the Turkmen steed. The sports competition, organized on the territory of the Mary equestrian complex, consisted of eight races among jockeys from all regions of the country and Ashgabat, as reported by «Turkmenistan Today».
The program of the event included horse races among junior jockeys, adult jockeys, and jockeys-mentors. The distance of the first race was 1000 meters, the next six races — 1200 meters, and the eighth one — 1000 meters.
The winner of the final race among the riders-mentors was S.Kuljanov, who overcame the corresponding distance in 1 minute 11.1 seconds on the horse Kadala from the Mary state stables. On behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, he was given a car. The winners of other races received valuable prizes and gifts.
After that, the 13th conference «The Turkmen horse and the world art of horse breeding» was held in the Mary provincial library. An exposition of the books by the leader of the country dedicated to horses was organized in the foyer of the institution.
It must be added that a show jumping competition was held in honor of the corresponding holiday in Ashgabat on April 20.
