Tajik citizens can reside in Iran without visa for one month

The document set the rules and restrictions.

The Government of Tajikistan has decided to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Iran on the abolition of visas for holders of general foreign passports, Sputnik reports.

As soon as all the documents are signed and come into force, citizens of Tajikistan will visit Iran without a visa for up to one month. However, this right only applies to foreign passport holders, and only if they are traveling for commercial, business or tourist purposes. Migrant workers have to apply for a visa.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan must notify the Iranian side that the necessary procedures have been completed for the Memorandum to enter into force. This document was signed following a meeting between IRI President Ebrahim Raisi and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in Dushanbe in November 2023.
