Tashkent will host the 16th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). The event is scheduled to take place on November 8-9, Sputnik reports the details.
The event will be attended by the heads of state and government of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Turkey will attend the event to be chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The Summit will focus on expanding trade, economic, investment, transport, communications and humanitarian cooperation within the ECO, as well as optimising its activities. The Summit will provide a platform for bilateral meetings between the leader of Uzbekistan and the participants.
The ECO was founded in 1985 and has the Permanent Secretariat in Tehran. Uzbekistan has been a member of the Economic Cooperation Organization since 1992.
