Tajikistan celebrated one of the main national holidays — the State Independence Day. This holiday marks the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of Tajikistan and the Resolution of the Supreme Council of Tajikistan on September 9, 1991, the Telegram channel of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States reported.
September 9 is a day off in the Republic of Tatarstan. In 2023, the State Independence Day of Tajikistan falls on a Saturday, and therefore, three days off were announced in the country — September 9, 10 and 11 by decree of President Emomali Rahmon.
«I sincerely congratulate all of you and our compatriots abroad on the sacred and great national holiday — the 32nd anniversary of independence of Tajikistan,» Emomali Rahmon congratulated citizens of the country.
On the eve of the holiday, a military parade, which was attended by the President of Tajikistan, was held in Dushanbe, and festive events were held in settlements and towns throughout the country. The festive events ended with bright fireworks.
