Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held a meeting of the Republican Task Force on the progress of the implementation of the «Just Kazakhstan for All and for Everyone. Now and Forever» election programme of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, the press office of the Government reported to CentralAsia.news.
The main issues under discussion included the shortage of places in student dormitories. Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek reported that 37 facilities intended for university and college students, which is about 11,000 places, are to be put into operation this year. However, there is a risk of delaying commissioning of 4 facilities with 1,400 places. This is due to such problems as re-designation of facilities, provision of grants and limited access to utility networks.
Alikhan Smailov stressed that the shortage of places in student dormitories must be addressed immediately, otherwise the situation would worsen. He instructed to provide places in student dormitories to the maximum extent by September 1 and ensure that 37 facilities planned for the current year will be put into operation in a timely manner.
The fulfilment of the President’s instructions on the implementation of the Auyl Amanaty programme aimed at increasing rural incomes was discussed. Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeev said 100 billion tenge have been earmarked for the implementation of the programme this year, and it is planned to allocate 17,000 microcredits, which allows creating over 18,000 new jobs in rural areas.
However, only ten regions have launched the programme. The weak performance was recorded in some regions, and no applications have been approved in three regions.
