Kyrgyzstan calls on Japan to intensify investment cooperation

Kulubayev noted that Kyrgyzstan views Japan as a friendly country with which it shares human rights values.

On March 15, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubayev met with Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Ambassador for Central Asia Masaki Ikegami. The interlocutors discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Noting that Kyrgyzstan views Japan as a close and friendly country with which it shares democratic values, the Minister confirmed that Japan is one of the key foreign policy partners of the Republic with which it maintains a political dialogue and consistently promotes financial and economic cooperation.

Kulubayev invited the Japanese side to more actively implement the existing potential of cooperation in the investment, financial and technical sectors.

Masaki Ikegami said Japan is committed to deepening Japan-Kyrgyzstan relations. He reaffirmed Tokyo’s readiness to support Bishkek in various areas and highlighted the foreign policy priorities and approaches of his country on urgent issues on the international agenda.
