On December 15-18, a South Korean delegation, headed by Mayor of Incheon Jong-sik Heo, was on a visit to Fergana Region, the Dunyo News Agency reported.
The visit was organised jointly by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea and the Korea-Uzbekistan Business Association.
The members of the delegation met with Fergana Region Khokim Khairullo Bozorov to discuss the prospects for boosting cooperation in the trade, economic, investment and social spheres and cultural and humanitarian exchange.
Some members of the delegation, headed by TDC President Choi In Chang, held talks with the representatives of regional administration on joint fire and industrial safety activities and South Korea’s investment in the construction of new residential buildings in the Eco-City district in Fergana.
This year, Korea has delivered free of charge 3 fire trucks, an ambulance and protective and special equipment to Uzbekistan.
Following the meetings, the parties signed the cooperation agreements in a number of areas between Fergana Region and Incheon Metropolitan City and a memorandum on industrial and fire safety between the Fergana Region administration and TDC.
