On November 15, representatives of the Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan and the sports organisations of the People’s Republic of China held an online meeting to exchange views on further cooperation in the sports sector and exchange of experience in staging sports competitions and organising joint events, the press office of the Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan reported.
They also discussed the participation of the Uzbek delegation in the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in 2023.
Minister of Sports Development of Uzbekistan Adkham Ikramov, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan Oybek Kasimov and other officials represented Uzbekistan at the meeting. Director of the General Administration of Sports of the People's Republic of China Gao Zhidan took part in the meeting via videoconference.
Noting that the Olympic Village that will host the Tashkent 2025 Asian Games is being built by China CAMC Engineering Co., the participants discussed aspects of Uzbekistan-China cooperation in the preparation for this continental event and the construction of sports facilities.
The participants noted the high level of partnerships in the sports sector and the staging of joint sporting events.
