Commodity turnover between Uzbekistan and Central Asian states exceeds $6 billion

The volume of trade with the Central Asian states has risen by 2.5 times over the past five years.

On August 8, a meeting on the expansion of cooperation with the Central Asia states took pace in Uzbekistan. The participants noted that the commodity turnover with neighbouring countries increased by more than $ 6 billion, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The volume of trade with the Central Asian states has risen by 2.5 times over the past five years. About 1,700 joint ventures have been set up in the Republic of Uzbekistan during this period. The officials presented new programmes and promising projects aimed at building up trade and economic contacts with neighbouring countries.

The agenda also focused on developing and maintaining the investment attractiveness rating of regions, which will enable to support small and medium-sized businesses in Uzbekistan.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev set specific tasks and gave specific instructions to the government officials regarding the issues discussed at the meeting.
