New facilities to be included in State Privatization Plan in Kazakhstan

As of today, this plan includes more than 720 organisations, of which 230 have been sold.

On August 1, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held a meeting of the state commission for economic modernisation. The agenda included the proposals for the revision of the Privatization Plan for the period until 2025, the press office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

In accordance with the Plan, 721 organisations have been put up for sale, of which 230 have been bought; about 50 organisations are to be liquidated or reorganised.

At this stage, a work is underway on the amendments to the relevant laws that “taboo” the sale of assets with a low book value, exclude affiliated transactions between the buyer and the seller and maintain centralized control over strategic facilities.

The participants decided to update the privatization list and initiated the inclusion of new organisations in the list that will bring tremendous economic benefits in a competitive environment.

In conclusion, Alikhan Smailov approved the proposed innovations in general.
