Bishkek and Tashkent discuss construction of road and logistics centre

The interlocutors discussed the state and prospects of cooperation between the two states during the meeting.

On April 1, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov held talks with his Uzbek counterpart Abdulla Aripov, who arrived in Osh Region for a working visit. The heads of government considered the issues of construction of the Irkeshtam-Daroot-Korgon-Uch-Korgon road and the border trade logistics centre in Kyzyl-Kiya, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.

Japarov noted that Uzbekistan is a reliable neighbour, strategic partner and brotherly nation for Kyrgyzstan.

The delegations of the two countries considered specific aspects of the implementation of joint infrastructure projects. For these purposes, they agreed to use the potential of the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund.

The participants emphasised their interest and readiness to expand interstate trade, economic and investment cooperation.

The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and noted that the two states are actively promoting industrial cooperation and implementing major joint energy, transport and logistics projects.
