Ambassador of France in the Republic of Tajikistan Michel Tarran described relations between the two countries in 2021 as successful. He emphasised that cultural partnerships deserved special attention, the Khovar State News Agency reported on January 28.
Tarran reminded that President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Paris for an official visit on October 13. The leader of Tajikistan held talks with President of France Emmanuel Macron. On the same day, the Europe’s largest exhibition of historical paintings of Tajikistan “Tajikistan, in the land of golden rivers” opened at the Guimet National Museum of Asian Arts. It lasted until January 10 this year. Macron said the exhibition was fascinating.
On October 14, the Day of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan in France took place at the office of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Cultural actions and concerts will be arranged and a book with articles by Tajik and French scientists will be published to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and France in March this year.
It is planned to open a French language school in this Central Asian state in the near future.
