Over 8 million citizens of Kazakhstan have completed two-dose vaccination course

Askar Mamin instructed to tighten sanitary border control measures due to the emergence of the newly identified Omicron coronavirus variant.

On November 30, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Askar Mamin held a government meeting on the current sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country. As of today, more than 70% of the adult population have been fully vaccinated, the press office of the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kazakhstan reported.

Deputy Minister of Health Marat Shoranov reported on the stability of the situation and the decrease in the number of patients receiving inpatient and polyclinic treatment. He said North Kazakhstan Region remained in the red zone.

Reporting on the vaccination sanitation and hygiene regulations rollout in Kazakhstan, Shoranov said to date 70.8%, amounting to   over 8 million people of the population had completed the two doses of vaccine course of vaccination.

Noting that the newly identified Omicron coronavirus variant was spreading all over the world, the Prime Minister instructed to tighten sanitary border control measures, thoroughly monitor the situation inside the country and ensure strict compliance with sanitation and hygiene regulations.
