Japarov and Zas discuss increasing threats in region

The parties discussed key aspects of cooperation within the organisation.

On September 1, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov received CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas, who was on a visit to Bishkek. The interlocutors discussed key aspects of interaction and ways of ensuring regional security and stability, as well as the upcoming CSTO Summit, which would be held in Dushanbe, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Zas and Japarov discussed in detail the dynamics of events on the regional and international scale, which directly affected the vital interests of the CSTO Member States.

The President of Kyrgyzstan noted that the increasing threats required close cooperation within the organisation.

The CSTO Secretary General expressed satisfaction with the meeting with Japarov, highlighting its importance with regard to the situation in the region.

The CSTO Secretary General will be in Bishkek for a working visit from August 31 to September 2. Zas will hold meetings with the political and military leaders of the country to discuss preparations for the upcoming CSTO Summit, which will take place in Dushanbe on September 15-16.
