Large families of Kazakhstan receive state allowances before September 1

The prices of all the required school supplies have risen dramatically.

In Kazakhstan, parents are facing financial problems in preparing their children for a new school year. Compared to last year, the costs on school supplies have doubled, MIR 24 reports.

Parents have calculated that they will have to spend about 100,000 tenge on clothes and shoes for their child, which is almost 22,000 rubbles. Shirts cost from 5,000 to 6,000 tenge.

According to analysts, since the beginning of the year, the prices for children’s clothes and shoes have increased by 20 percent, and for school stationery — by 67 percent. For example, the price of notebooks has increased from 18 to 30 tenge per piece. Store owners attribute these price increases to rising purchase prices, rents and utilities.

However, the state partially compensates for the costs on school supplies to low-income families, large families with many children and adopted children. In accordance with the Vseobuch Programme, children from such families receive 41,000 tenge each to buy school stationery.
