The Russian companies actively cooperate and supervise a number of energy projects in the country, in particular the hydroelectric power plants.
On June 3, Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov held a meeting with his Russian counterpart Nikolai Shulginov in St. Petersburg and discussed a number of issues of further bilateral partnerships. It was noted that a number of Russian companies actively cooperated with Uzbek partners and supervised the energy projects in the country, in particular the hydroelectric power plants, the press office of the Ministry of Energy reported.
“The Uzbek and Russian companies are actively operating in the gas and oil sectors and the power industry. Our enterprises, Gazprom and its subsidiaries and Lukoil have been promoting long-term successful interaction in developing the oil and gas fields in the Republic of Uzbekistan, and cross-border energy supplies are increasing,” the RF Minister said.
Sultanov noted that the Russian Federation was one of Uzbekistan’s reliable partners in the energy sector. In partnership with Russia, Uzbekistan successfully implements the large-scale programme aimed at increasing oil and gas production together with VEB.RF and Gazprombank JSC that has financed the investment projects in this sector.
“The Concept of digitalization of the energy sector is being developed and will be implemented with the support of Russian ICS Holding. Zarubezhneft, FORUS JSC, Tatneft and other major companies make their worthy contribution to our energy cooperation. Professional training is a specific aspect of our partnerships. Currently, the future specialists of Uzbekistan’s fuel and energy sector are studying at the branches of 3 Russian higher educational institutions in Tashkent. I firmly believe that we will implement more ambitious joint projects in the future that will boost energy growth of our countries,” the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan said.
