On May 26, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev received Prime Minister Askar Mamin. They discussed the social development issues, including the measures taken to create employment opportunities for citizens and update the wage classifier, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported.
Reporting on the progress in implementing the Employment Roadmap, the Prime Minister said 300 billion tenge had been allocated from the reserve funds to implement this large-scale programme and 35,600 jobs would be created throughout the country. He emphasised that these included 20,000 permanent jobs.
Mamin reported that the mechanism of a new state wage system had been piloted. The pilot project, involving the Agency for Civil Service Affairs, the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Ministry of Justice and akimats of a number of regions, was launched 3 years ago. The Prime Minister said it had showed positive results and contributed to reducing employee turnover, increasing attractiveness of civil service and narrowing the pay gap between the centre and the regions of the country.
Commenting on the report, the President instructed that the geography of the national project be expanded to cover local and central public entities.
