President of Uzbekistan visits Republican Centre for Haematology

In 2020-2024, over 546 billion soums and approximately US$ 71 million will be spent on promoting haematology services; more than 91 billion soums have been spent this year.

On May 14, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Republican Specialized Research Medical Centre for Haematology. In 2020-2024, over 546 billion soums and approximately US$ 71 million will be spent on promoting haematology services; more than 91 billion soums have been spent this year, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reports.

These sources of funding are used to supply medicines and medical equipment, agents and reagents to health care facilities. The measures are being taken to build up material and technical resources of haematology services and strength the mechanism of early disease detection and treatment.

The Medical Centre has three buildings with 260 beds. Currently, 210 patients, including 42 children, are undergoing treatment at the Centre.

On the President’s instructions, a new building for the Centre and the Children’s Oncology and Haematology Centre that will adopt best practices of D. Rogachev National Research Centre in the Russian Federation will be built. Bone marrow transplants will be performed at the new centre.

“Your smile should make your parents happy. Live with the belief that you will be cured. We will try to do whatever is necessary,” the President told the small patients of the Centre.
