Destroyed homes in Kyrgyzstan to be reconstructed at government expense

The homes of citizens of Kyrgyzstan that have been damaged beyond repair will be rebuilt free of charge.

On May 3, the authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic informed that all homes and facilities destroyed during the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border would be  renovated at government expense, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.

It was reported that the homes that had been damaged beyond repair would be rebuilt free of charge.

According to Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan Urmatbek Shamirkanov, 78 homes had been destroyed partially or completely during the armed clash in Batken Region.

10 gas stations, 8 shops, 3 checkpoints, 2 schools, a first-aid post, a kindergarten and local police station have been burned down.

Earlier, Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev assured that the authorities would finish reconstructing houses by September before the cold weather set in.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as of May 3, the situation is stable in all districts and villages of Batken Region on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
