On April 28, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev delivered a speech at the 29th session of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan (APK). Its central message was the need to strengthen interethnic unity in unavoidable conditions of negative global transformation, the press office of Akorda reported.
The leader of Kazakhstan noted that humanity was coming into possession of new realities of politics, economics, social development and technological upgrading. Religious strife flares up and xenophobic views are heard in different regions of the world. The massive onslaught of the epidemic are exacerbating these challenges.
Against the backdrop of global geopolitical turmoil, Kazakhstan has an adequate safety margin based on the national cohesion and unity. The APK has become a strong platform for interethnic and interfaith harmony in the country. This consolidation had built a strong economic potential of the country, the President emphasised.
The leader of Kazakhstan noted that the key vector of the Assembly’s activities was the promotion of the universal concept of unity in diversity. Its main task is to make every citizen, regardless of ethnicity and faith, feel like an equal member of a large and close-knit family.
The President approached Nursultan Nazarbayev with a request to assume the post of Honorary Chairman of the APK.
