Tokayev instructed that the Government should not weaken controls over the production of the QazVac vaccine and its availability for citizens.
On April 23, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Znomart Tokayev had a meeting with Prime Minister Askar Mamin and Minister of Health Aleksei Tsoi. The leader of Kazakhstan focused on the normalisation of the epidemic situation in the country, the progress in the vaccination campaign and on-going economic and social measures, the press office of Akorda reported.
The officials reported on the delivery of the domestically manufactured vaccine QazVac to the regional departments. They said the Ashyq application, which is required by various economic sectors to operate in red and yellow zone, would be introduced in the near future. The Prime Minister reported that up to 2 million people a month would have access to vaccines from April.
Reporting on the current epidemic situation, the high-ranking officials presented the statistical data. The current bed occupancy rate at infectious hospitals is 42%, and that at intensive care units is 28%. The Ministry of Health maintains adequate supplies of medicines and personal protective equipment, 123,000 PCR tests are done a day and 25,000 beds are kept in reserve for emergencies.
The Prime Minister reported to the preparations for the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council scheduled for April 29-30 and the measures taken to attract investments and provide employment opportunities to citizens.
