Novikov criticizes Kyrgyz citizens for behaviour in public places

The numbers of ambulance crews and places in hospitals will increase in response to the unfavourable epidemic situation.

On April 5, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Artyom Novikov visited an emergency centre in the capital. He said the epidemic situation in the country was unfavourable and new COVID-19 cases were rising. He emphasised that citizens neither wore facemasks nor maintained safe social distancing in public places, the press office of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

With the view to stabilising the COVID-19 situation in the Republic, the numbers of ambulance crews will increase, and more hospital beds will be reserved for coronavirus patients in Bishkek and Chui region on April 5.

In particular, 110 beds will be reserved in the national hospital, including 10 beds in the intensive care wards, and 55 beds in the Chui Region hospital, including 5 beds in the intensive care wards. Over 1,000 hospital beds will be reserved in in-patient departments, if needed.

Novikov noted that special attention should be given to patients with chronic conditions.
