Tajikistan strengthens control over airfares

This will be done to end unreasonably high airline ticket prices for the Dushanbe-Moscow-Dushanbe flight.

The Civil Aviation Agency of Tajikistan intends to strengthen control over airline ticket prices. Chairman of the Civil Aviation Agency Ikrom Subkhonzoda made this statement at the emergency meeting on April 5. He said tough measures would be taken against those who violated the requirements, the Khovar State News Agency reported.

The official noted that the information about unreasonably high airfares for the Dushanbe-Moscow-Dushanbe flight was surfacing on the websites.

He said the airline ticket price should not exceed US$ 500 (up to US$ 350 for a Dushanbe-Moscow ticket and up to US$ 150 for a Moscow-Dushanbe ticket).

Subhonzoda called on the top managers and representatives of the ticket sales companies and agencies to comply with the protocol. He said the Civil Aviation Agency would request that the specialised organisations take tough measures against those who violated the requirements.

As was reported, passenger air services between Tajikistan and Russia were resumed on April 1. The planes fly between Dushanbe and Moscow and Moscow and Dushanbe twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.
