Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov did it during a visit to the Akhal-Teke equestrian complex.
On the morning of 22 March, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Akhal-Teke equestrian complex. There he was informed about the birth of a foal of a legendary horse named Akhan. The event inspired him to write a poem about Ashgabat, as reported by «Turkmenistan Today».
It is important to note that Berdimuhamedov has personally trained Akhan. He tied the neck of the foal with an aladja woven by president’s mother Ogulabat eje. In honor of the celebration of the 140th anniversary of the capital this year, the leader of the country named the newborn horse «Ashgabat».
After that, Berdimuhamedov took a walk with a silver Akhal-Teke horse Shapolat. Then, in his office on the territory of the hippodrome, the President continued to write the final chapter of the book «Ashgabat», which is dedicated to the history of the city. Having been inspired by the birth of a foal, he wrote a poem «My white city — Ashgabat».
It must be recalled that the horse Akhan participated in the opening ceremony of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in 2017. A year later, it broke the world record, having reared a 10-meter distance in 4.19 seconds.
