New jubilee coin in circulation in Kazakhstan

It features the first president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The national monetary regulator of Kazakhstan will issue into circulation a new silver coin with the depiction in gold of the first President of Kazakhstan Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev on the obverse. The reverse features the flag of Kazakhstan, the inscription Nur-Sultan, the residence of the leader of Kazakhstan and the sights of the capital. This news appeared on the website of the National Bank of Kazakhstan.

The value of the new coin is 1,000 tenge. It is made of silver weighing 46.2 grammes, and 999-carat gold weighing 16 grammes. The total amount in circulation is 1,000. The jubilee coins have the same rights as other means of payment issued into circulation by the National Bank of Kazakhstan. Each coin will have a souvenir packaging and a numbered quality certificate of the National Bank of Kazakhstan translated into Russian and English.

The coins are minted at the mint in Kazakhstan.

Further information on the 1000 tenge coins featuring the first President in the series “Memorable Events and Unique People of Kazakhstan” will be provided soon. The series includes the coins commemorating a writer Zhuban Moldagaliyev and a poet Abai Kunanbayev issued earlier.
