Japarov inspects housing conditions of children from Iraq

79 children are currently undergoing rehabilitation at the children’s centre before their relatives take them home.

On March 19, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov visited a children’s centre in Chui Region, where he inspected the conditions that the children brought from Iraq were living in. They are currently undergoing rehabilitation at the centre. Local specialists help those children socialise before their relatives take them home, the press office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.

The leader of Kyrgyzstan was informed that the centre had put in place all the necessary arrangements for the children’s accommodation and recreation. The children eat four meals a day. Security personnel stands guard at the centre round the clock.

Japarov visited the bedrooms and dining room, where he inspected the children’s food.

The President emphasised that those children were citizens of Kyrgyzstan who had left for Iraq for various reasons and survived the consequences of armed conflicts in a foreign country, and they should be aware that they would always find care and protection in their homeland.

As was reported, 79 Kyrgyz children came back to their homeland from Iraq in the framework of the Meerim humanitarian mission. This is the first repatriation operation of this kind and scale in the country.
