Uzbekistan to open exhibition and cultural centre in Russia

The parties discussed the progress in developing projects in the pharmaceutical, metallurgical, machine building and aviation industries.

On March 15, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov held a meeting with Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Dmitry Manturov. The politicians discussed the progress in developing projects in the pharmaceutical, metallurgical, machine building and aviation industries. They also noted that Uzbekistan would open an exhibition and cultural centre in Russia, the press office of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade reported to CentralAsia.news.

The interlocutors considered the prospects for enhancing industrial cooperation between Uzbek and Russian businesses, including in the textile industry, agriculture, logistics and other sectors.

They also agreed to intensify the joint development of new bilateral investment and trade agreements during the visits of the delegations of departments and regional administrations of Uzbekistan to the regions of the Russian Federation.

The officials reviewed the overall efforts to implement the industrial cooperation programme including 104 projects worth US$ 5.8 billion. The ministers identified further steps towards implementing these projects.

The interlocutors agreed to speed up training of Uzbek civil servants in industrial development at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia under the internship and professional development programme.
