Prime Minister of Kazakhstan instructs to ensure faster rollout of vaccination

Mamin emphasised that the number-one task was to ensure faster rollout of vaccination, which would contribute to achieving herd immunity.

On March 16, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and set priorities to suppress the spread of coronavirus in the country, the press office of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The officials reported that Kazakhstan had launched large-scale production of the Russian vaccines, and 95,000 people had received the vaccines to date. Medical workers, teachers and law enforcement officers were the first to receive the vaccine. All vaccinated persons feel well, and no adverse reactions have shown up after the vaccination. In April, older adults will receive the vaccine.

The Prime Mister highlighted the need to achieve herd immunity, and in this regard, the number-one task was to ensure access to vaccines and support delivery of large-scale vaccination.

Askar Mamin instructed to increase the number of vaccination centres in the country and intensify awareness raising activities among citizens. He criticized the regional administrations for the lack of up-to-date information on vaccination and its benefits and the location of injecting rooms on their websites.

The Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Health to check the readiness of vaccination centres by the end of this month and ensure the timely delivery of previously agreed quantities of vaccines.
