By the decree of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, large families will be given apartments.
On March 5, at a government meeting, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on awarding 245 mothers with many children the honorary title of Turkmenistan Ene mähri. The corresponding families will also be given apartments, as reported by the «Turkmenistan Today».
Berdimuhamedov instructed the head of the Mejlis, Gulshat Mammedova, to give awards and gifts on behalf of the country’s leader to women living in Ashgabat at the Center of Public Organizations. At the administration of the capital, they will be given the keys to new apartments.
The women awarded the title of Ene mähri (in translation from the Turkmen language it means «mother’s tenderness») who live in the provinces, will receive gifts and keys to apartments at their places.
During the meeting, Berdimuhamedov also congratulated women on the upcoming International Women’s Day.
It must be added that women who have given birth and raised 8 or more children are considered mothers of large families in Turkmenistan. The corresponding title has been awarded since 2008. The chosen citizens receive a badge, a certificate, and a one-time monetary remuneration (its size is equal to ten times the base value calculated for the appointment of pensions and benefits).
In addition, mothers with many children are provided with several benefits, including free dentures, utilities, and the use of public transport.
