Uzbekistan completes construction of medical complex in Tajikistan

The newly built medical complex includes a reception and referral centre for coronavirus patients.

The Uzbekneftegaz Joint-Stock Company provided funding to complete the construction of a modern medical complex in Kubodiyon village in the south of Tajikistan. The construction project was launched in the second half of 2018, the ASIA-Plus News Agency reported on February 27.

The newly built medical complex includes a reception and referral centre for coronavirus patients. Patients will be tested for coronavirus at the medical centre and receive referrals for medical treatment to the hospitals in the capital city and the regions.

Currently, this medical centre has no analogues throughout Tajikistan. It was built at the initiative of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev put forward during his visit to Dushanbe in March 2018.

In accordance with the agreement, the authorities of Uzbekistan financed the construction of a school for 630 children in Spitamen district, Sughd Region. The educational institution was put into operation in September last year.

In March 2018, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon signed the Decree on the construction of a school for 640 children in Samarkand and a kindergarten in Fergana Region, the Republic of Uzbekistan.
