Serdar Berdimuhamedov appointed as Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers

The newly appointed Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers will be in charge of digitalisation and innovation in the fields of public administration, finance, education and healthcare.

On February 11, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held an online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council. The Turkmen leader appointed Serdar Berdimuhamedov as Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Neutral Turkmenistan Newspaper reports.

The newly appointed Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers will be responsible for introducing digital systems and technologies at government bodies and public organisations and in the fields of finance, economy, education and healthcare.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov was also appointed a member of the State Security Council and Chairman of the Supreme Chamber of Control of Turkmenistan.

The President said this post was established with the aim of improving the work of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov is the son of the leader of Turkmenistan. He is 39 years old. He previously served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahal Velayat Hyakim and Minister of Industry and Construction Production.
